Alamo Sweden Rental Terms for travel between 01-Jan-2012 and 31-Dec-2019

Payment
An initial, non-refundable deposit will be secured at the time of booking confirmation. Accepted credit cards are Visa and MasterCard (transaction fee of 1.75% applies).

The balance, along with any applicable vehicle security bond, will be secured directly by the supplier on your arrival.

Cancellation
In the event of cancellation, the initial deposit paid remains non-refundable.

Additional Driver Policy
Additional drivers charge is SEK 40.00 + tax per day, with a maximum charge of SEK 400.00 + tax per rental (10 days).

Age Requirements
Minimum rental age is:
18 years for car groups: ECMN-CDMR-EWMR.
24 years for car groups: PWMR-SVMR-SWMR-SDAR-FWMR-CWMR-CDAR-SFMR-LWMR.
There is no maximum rental age. There is no young drivers surcharge in Sweden.

Condition of Vehicle
Vehicle must be returned, normal wear & tear expected, in the same condition as when rented. If special cleaning is required a separate charge will be made directly to the customer

Cross Border Policy
Cross border travel is not permitted into Albania, Balearic Islands, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Canary Islands, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Kosovo,  Republic of Macedonia, Montenegro, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovenia and Ukraine. No extra documents or advance notice is required for cross border travel.

License Requirements
Customers must present a full and valid driving license which has been held for a minimum of one year. An international driving license/permit is not required.

One Way Rentals
One way rentals are allowed on all cars except for SVMR, these cars are not bookable on one way rentals at all. 
The one way fee in Sweden is 544.00 SEK + VAT.  One ways within in the same city are free of charge with a couple of exceptions as follows:
Gothenburg Int Apt (GOTT71) to/from: Gothenburg City (GOTC71), Gothenburg Grafiska Vagen (GOTC72), Molndal (GOTC73) and Gothenburg City Apt (GSET71) there is a one way fee of 500,00 SEK + VAT.
Malmo Sturup Apt (MMXT71) to/from: Malmo Caroli City (MMAC71), Malmo Fosie (MMAC74) and Malmo Kabingatan (MMAC72) there is a one way fee of 500,00 SEK + VAT.
Stockholm Arlamda Apt (ARNT71) to/from: Stockholm Akalla (STOC78), Stockholm Hammarby (STOC72), Stockholm Haninge (STOS71), Stockholm Jarva (STON73), Stockholm Ostermalm (STOC74), Stockholm Taby (STON74), Stockholm Ulvsunda (STOC76), Stockholm City Vasagatan (STOC71) and Stockholm Bromma (BMAT71) there is a one way fee of 500,00 SEK + VAT.
One ways are not allowed from Sweden Mainland to Gotland Island (Visby Airport and Visby Downtown) and vice versa.
Please note: due to system constraints, the one way fee will be applied to ALL one ways and will be removed at time of checkout if applicable.
An additional SEK 275.00 + tax will be charged for one ways with Special Equipment (this will be charged locally if applicable).
Sweden is not part of the international one way programme.

Out of Hours Policy
Charges for Out of hours pickups are SEK 475.00 + tax.  There is no charge for out of hours drop offs.

Payment Policy
All major credit cards are accepted. (American Express/Diners Club/Mastercard/Visa). National vouchers are accepted. National chargecards are not accepted. Cash rentals are not accepted. Travellers cheques are not accepted. Eurocheques are not accepted. A credit card is always required for deposits, and the deposit is held on the card until the vehicle is returned. The deposit required is the estimated rental charges plus 20 percent plus 2549.00 SEK.

Refueling Policy
Customers must return the car with the same amount of fuel as time of pickup or refueling charges will apply. The price to refuel on return to the location will be approx 25 percent higher than a gas station pump price.
Roadside Assistance
All details will be provided to the customer at time of pick up

Special Equipment
Infant Seat – CSI (0 – 12 months / 0 – 13kgs) – SEK 112.00 + tax per day, with a maximum charge of SEK 560.00 + tax per rental.  On Request and only available at Stockholm Arlanda (ARNT71).
Toddler Seat – CST (4 – 7 years / 15 – 30kgs) – SEK 52.00 + tax per day, with a maximum charge of SEK 260.00 + tax per rental.  On Request.
Booster Seat – BST (up to 12 years / under 135cms) – SEK 52.00 + tax per day, with a maximum charge of SEK 260.00 + tax per rental.  On Request.
Baby seats are also available (1 – 3 years / 9 – 18 kgs) at a cost of SEK 112.00 + tax per day, with a maximum charge of SEK 560.00 + tax.  Baby seats are not loaded in the system, so if required please add to the remarks on the reservation.
Luggage Rack – LUG – SEK 120.00 + tax per day, with a maximum charge of SEK 600.00 + tax per rental.  On Request.
Trailer Hitch –  SEK 120.00 + tax per day. On Request (not loaded on the system)
Navigation System – NVS – SEK 104.00 + tax per day, with a maximum charge of SEK 520.00 + tax per rental and a replacement amount of SEK 3500.00 + tax.  On Request.
Ski Rack – SKR – SEK 112.00 + tax per day, with a maximum charge of SEK 560.00 + tax per rental.  On Request.
Snow Tires are mandatory during the winter season (1st December to 31st March) and are free of charge.  Snow Tires are not loaded in the system as they will automatically be provided to the customer for rentals during the winter season.  Snow Tires are not available outside of the winter season.
All equipment is available for all locations and car groups.
Child seats are mandatory for all children up to 140cm tall.  Customers must bring their own seats if no child seat is booked.
An additional SEK 275.00 + tax will be charged for one ways with Special Equipment (this will be charged locally if applicable).

Surcharges
Airport fee is 216.00 SEK per rental, excl vat.
Premium location surcharge is 240.00 SEK per rental, excl vat, at Stockholm Vasagatan (STOC01/71) only.
Environmental Fee is 25.00 SEK per day, excl vat, with a maximum charge of 322.00 SEK per rental, excl tax (14 days). The environmental fee includes the congestion charge when driving in and out of Stockholm City on weekdays.
Congestion tax applies in Stockholm and is charged to certain Swedish registered vehicles on each passage in and out of Stockholm city centre between 6.30am and 6.29pm, Monday to Friday.
Congestion tax does not apply on public holidays, the day before a public holiday or during the month of July.
Congestion tax is automatically registered at control points at a cost of 10.00, 15.00 or 20.00 SEK, depending on the time of day, with a maximum charge of 60.00 SEK and an administration fee of 10%.
Smoking is forbidden in all cars. Customers who fail to adhere to this rule will be charged a penalty fee.

CDW – Collision Damage Waiver
Collision damage waiver reduces the amount of the customer’s damage responsibility to the excess/deductible amount. The customer is liable for the full cost of the damage/loss if this insurance is not purchased.  All prices exclude tax.

Third Party Liability
Third party liability insurance provides cover for any damage caused by a third party up to a maximum of 300,000,000 SEK.

TP – Theft Protection
Theft cover reduces the customer’s theft responsibility to the excess/deductible amount. The customer is liable for the full cost of the damage/loss if this insurance is not purchased.  All prices exclude tax.

When you pick up your vehicle, you will be required to sign a rental agreement with the supplier of the vehicle. Your rental and use of the vehicle will be governed by the terms of the rental agreement and any other documentation or information provided to you by the supplier at the time you pick up your vehicle. The rental agreement is between you and the supplier and we will not be liable to you or to any third party in relation to the terms of the supplier's rental agreement or any other documentation provided to you by the supplier at the time of pick up.

While we will make reasonable efforts to ensure we are representing only reputable suppliers, we make no warranty about the fitness or suitability of any third party (supplier) product or service and will not accept responsibility for the quality or fitness of any vehicle. We welcome feedback from our customers on their experience with our suppliers. We may, at our discretion, provide you with reasonable assistance in resolving any dispute you may have with a supplier.

Our total liability to you in relation to your use of this website and the information contained on this website will not exceed the dollar amount of the deposit we have received from you in relation to your booking/rental. Refunds will not be made for bookings cancelled due to inclement weather. Again, we strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance. Your use of this website is governed by the laws of New Zealand and the jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.

Booking information
To make a booking you must complete our booking form which is easy to follow and secured with the latest encryption technology. Once we receive your form, we will, subject to availability, confirm your booking by emailing you a confirmation voucher and invoice.

If you are booking via phone, please make sure you have read the terms and conditions of the vehicle you wish to rent first. Our reservations consultant will ask you if you have read the terms and agree to them before proceeding. The onus is always on the renter to ensure they make themselves fully aware of the terms displayed on our website.

Information disclosure
In booking on this website you acknowledge that we disclose your information to your selected Supplier in order to provide the requested rental services.

Vehicle capacity and fitness to drive
Under no circumstances are you permitted to carry more passengers than the vehicle you rent is legally registered to carry, and if you do your insurance may be invalidated. The number of seatbelts (and passengers) is indicated next to each vehicle on this website. Luggage capacity where shown is an indication only and we will not be responsible should you be unable to fit your entire luggage into a vehicle. It is your responsibility to choose a journey that is within your capabilities. A vehicle supplier can refuse to rent a vehicle to any person who is in their opinion unfit to drive or does not meet eligibility requirements. In such circumstances we will have no further liability to you.

Refund Policy
We are committed to providing a quality service and aim for complete customer satisfaction. In the event of cancellation, any refunds or penalties are detailed in the terms and conditions of your selected vehicle that you are asked to read and accept at time of booking. In the event you are unsatisfied with our service, please contact us within 48 hours of placing your booking or request and we will work to resolve any issues and determine if compensation is due. In the event you have completed your rental and are unhappy with your vehicle, we are happy to assist you in seeking compensation from the operator of the vehicle.
